The Miller-Dwan Burn Center is a 15-bed regional burn care facility serving Northeastern Minnesota, Northwestern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Comprehensive burn care for patients of all ages, infants to elderly, is provided. Patient care is delivered by a burn team consisting of physicians, nurses, therapists, social workers and
dieticians who are specialists in high-quality, personalized burn care. The
Miller-Dwan Intensive Care Unit is located adjacent to the Burn Center and provides an added dimension to critical burn care. The successful outcome of burn care at
Miller-Dwan Burn Center is maximized by state-of-the-art equipment.
In addition, the Miller-Dwan Burn Center cares for people with major skin and soft tissue damage resulting from trauma, chronic conditions such as diabetes and circulatory insufficiency, and frostbite. Surgical reconstructive needs are also met at
Miller-Dwan.
The Burn Outpatient Treatment Center provides care for minor burns and instructs patients and families in home care when appropriate. Emergency burn outpatient care is available 24 hours day. The Outpatient Treatment Center also offers expert care for acute and chronic damage to the skin and underlying tissues.
