Partial Hospital Programs .
Adult Partial Hospital Program The Adult Partial Hospital Program provides therapy to individuals 18 and older who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness which would require hospitalization if left untreated. Clients also receive assistance in returning to the community after their inpatient care is completed. Patients typically stay two to four weeks, depending on treatment needs and staff recommendations. This program is offered Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. A follow-up group is held on Wednesdays to maintain progress and address the client's current needs.
.
Adolescent Partial Hospital Program The Adolescent Partial Hospital Program is designed to provide an atmosphere which fosters emotional and behavioral stabilization for children ages 12 to 18 with acute emotional difficulties. Used as an alternative to or transition from inpatient treatment, partial hospitalization provides a supportive, healing experience with intensive family involvement. The program helps troubled teenagers overcome serious emotional problems that interfere with their happiness, self-confidence and ability to get along with family and friends. Miller-Dwan's professional staff creates an atmosphere where clients feel safe enough to express themselves in ways not harmful to others, the goal being a greater sense of security and confidence, and improved interpersonal relationships. Adolescents attend the program an average of two to four weeks, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
.
Child Partial Hospitalization The Child Partial Hospitalization Program is for children of elementary school age, grades K-6. The program may be used for children who are at risk for hospitalization or institutional care due to their emotional or behavioral problems. We offer a more intensive level of care when other outpatient treatment is not sufficient in providing for the individual child and family needs. Our goal is to serve as a bridge between the child's home and transition back to school and the community. Our mission is to create a safe environment that allows children to express themselves in a variety of ways, working toward a greater sense of emotional, behavioral, and physical security by improving skills to continue in their development as a unique person throughout life.
